“Are you having a rough time?”

Pastor Belinda🌹- Feb. 29, 2024

All of us have rough times. Times when things aren’t working out as planned. Weather it’s your job, your family, your finances, your spiritual walk all, of these things can have a rough time. but there is an answer to this and it’s something that I have heard from the Lord, he said, “be tenacious.” my reply was, “but God, I am having a rough time!”

When we are having a rough time, our feelings can be hurt, our bank account could be empty. Our family could be avoiding us. There’s a number of things that can cause a rough time. But in each and every one of those “hard times”, the Father is there waiting for you to ask for his help.

He told me to be “tenacious.” Tenacious means, tending to keep a firm hold of something; clinging or adhering closely:

"a tenacious grip". God wants us to hold on to Him with all that is within us! No matter how down you feel, God has got you! If it wasn’t for the valleys we wouldn’t have mountain tops!

So no matter where you are, and no matter what you are dealing with, trust in Him. Lean on Him.

This Sunday, March 3rd, marks the anniversary of the loss of our oldest son. During that rough time I learned to crawl up on the lap of God and lean my head on his chest, and let him carry me through this rough time. He wants to do that for you. Just lean on him. Let him hold you, let him carry you.

So when you’re in a rough patch, that is when you can learn to set yourself on fire and men will come and watch you burn. it’s easy to burn when everything’s good it’s easy to burn when you’re excited but when you lie to match and set yourself on fire when things aren’t so good men will come to watch you burn. They will see that you have something stronger than they have. They will see that your God is alive and that he loves his children.

Well, God was carrying me thru the loss of our son. I would give testimony, after testimony in the mission field to hundreds of young people about our son and our loss, and that he wanted to meet them and that the only way now they could meet him, was if they received Jesus in their heart, and they went to heaven. I was setting myself on fire, and those children and young people were watching me burn. They were watching that God was carrying me and I watched them receive Jesus in their hearts. I would go home at night and I would tell Satan. “you took my son, but I stole hundreds of your children today!”

Set yourself on fire and see what God will do in your rough time. He will use it. He will use it for his benefit.

I set myself on fire and people come to watch me burn.

John Wesley (according to Forbes quotes)

“ God, show them how to push thru the rough time! Show them how to set themselves on fire and shine in the darkness! In Jesus name! Amen!”

    God bless,
