“Authority”- Pastor Rusty - March 23rd, 2021

"Jesus called his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits so they could cast them out and heal every kind of disease and sickness."

This word “authority” here is the Greek word "exousa" which sometimes translates power, but more apply in this case means ability. Jesus gave them authority to do the work of the ministry. You might think some kind of ritual or ceremony was involved, but I think He simply told them they could do it and they did it. Now when your with Christ in the school of ministry you might think there was a great deal of instruction went into this but it's more demonstration and a hands on approach. After David killed Goliath with sling and stone, the warriors of Israel eventually killed four of Goliath's sons and one of his brothers. Yet none of them replicated the way David did it. 1 Chron. 20:4-8. David didn't show them how to kill a Giant as much as he showed them a giant could be killed. Jesus showed you demons could be cast out by His authority. It's not a formula, it's an authority. It's a right. Happy hunting and learn to take charge, and quit worrying about how you look, there's no authority in vanity. 🤔😇
