Christmas Carols

💝🎶 THE SONGS OF CHRISTMAS 🎶💝 DAILY WORD - Dec.19.2018 - Pastor Sheliah

🎄 ➖ I hear people say they get tired of hearing Christmas carols over and over - especially in Branson where the “Christmas Season” begins on November 1st. But as for me, I would enjoy hearing them all year long. What an amazing and miraculous experience we have to celebrate!

We are reminded of the coming to earth - as one of us - our Savior, Redeemer, our Master, the Lord God Almighty - and the world hears the Message of Jesus Christ in the songs we sing about His birth!

“I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

“This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.” (Luke.2:7-14 NASB) ==============================

Here’s an old hymn to remind you:

HARK THE HERALD ANGELS SING 1] Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the new-born King! Peace on earth, and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled." Joyful, all ye nations, rise, Join the triumph of the skies; With th' angelic host proclaim, "Christ is born in Bethlehem."

2] Christ, by highest heaven adored: Christ, the everlasting Lord; Late in time behold him come, Offspring of the favoured one. Veiled in flesh, the Godhead see; Hail, th'incarnate Deity: Pleased, as man, with men to dwell, Jesus, our Emmanuel!

3] Hail! the heaven-born Prince of peace! Hail! the Son of Righteousness! Light and life to all He brings, Risen with healing in His wings Mild He lays his glory by, Born that man no more may die: Born to raise the son of earth, Born to give them second birth.

Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the new-born King !"

➖Written in 1739, by Charles Wesley. The tune by which we sing “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing!” was written by Felix Mendelssohn.

Charles Wesley wrote over 6,500 hymns. His was a heart full of praise, overflowing with worship to his Savior, and this song clearly came from his deep love for the scripture.

“Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” (Colossians.3:16)

What a great God-given gift we have in music! During this most joyous season, sing with thankfulness in your heart! Share the message of your Savior playing and singing the wonderful songs of Christmas. You might even consider the old-fashioned way of celebrating and go caroling for someone shut-in or lonely! I can guarantee you’ll be the one that is blessed and thankful!

Merry Christmas to you and yours! Jesus truly is the reason for this season .... He is the reason that we can live - Life abundantly and full of joy! ~ Shelia Hart Artt
