“Culture of Honor”
“So welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and honor people like him,” Phil.2:29
Developing a culture of honor. Danny Silk once wrote a book on the culture of honor, a lost equation in kingdom philosophy. Learning to honor and esteem others in your fellowship or kingdom social group, with honor(high respect) and courtesy (excellence of manners), even higher than yourself. Keep this in mind.
“Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. † Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” Phil. 2:3-4
A pattern for life. Think about it. Self promotion will never lead to a culture of honor, and if you only honor yourself, and fail to honor others, you will not be held in honor. God’s law of reciprocation (sowing and reaping) requires you to give honor to receive honor. Think about it.
