Cutting Your Lifelines

“Then when the sailors tried to escape from the ship and were lowering the ship’s boat into the sea, pretending that they were going to put out anchors from the bow, Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, “Unless these men stay with the ship, you cannot be saved.” Then the soldiers cut the ropes of the ship’s boat and let it drift away.” Acts 27:30-32
One of the greatest acts of faith was the cutting the lifeboats free in the midst of a storm. This was voluntary on the part of the solders. When the sailors were ready to abandon ship, the true seamen had lost hope of being saved, the solders acted on Paul’s command and cut the ropes. When your going through a trial sometimes it’s easier when you feel you have no options. When you keep your lifeboat close at hand just in case (you know just in case God doesn’t come through) you subtly hold on to your options. Your job can become a lifeline when God is calling you out into deeper waters. You try to thread the needle between faith and common sense 🤔 (good luck with that). No one ever sees the real power of God by playing it safe!🧐 Some of you have moved into a season of transition, we used to call it “stepping out in faith”. Some of you wish there was no choices. This is where the mature step up.God deliberately leaves you options just for you to see how you will play it. Sure you can play it safe and experience a degree of “tranquility” or you can step out in faith and experience “shaloam”.🤔 It is said that at the end of one’s life one doesn’t tend to regret the things he has done as much as the things he has not done. The road less traveled sort of thing.🧐 It’s time to cut the lifelines to the things that are holding you back from a supernatural lifestyle. Just sayin’.
