Ephesians 4:31-32 The Passion Translation (TPT)
31 Lay aside bitter words, temper tantrums, revenge, profanity, and insults. 32 But instead be kind and affectionate toward one another. Has God graciously forgiven you? Then graciously forgive one another in the depths of Christ’s love.
It is forgiveness that paves the way to wholeness. One can’t be whole without letting things that are done against you to be put into the hands of our Father, God.
I could come up with a list of things that I believe were wrongs done to me. I could hold each person responsible in a death grip. I could try and squeeze every bit of joy those people may have right out of the air, but that’s not forgiveness. That does not bring the ones I put on that list sadness. It only hurts myself.
Matt. 6:15 in the Message Bible says:
“In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do. You can’t get forgiveness from God, for instance, without also forgiving others. If you refuse to do your part, you cut yourself off from God’s part.
Even though you can not comprehend how on earth you can possibly forgive someone I challenge you to place them and the situation in God’s hands. His love for you is pure and He only has good things in store for His children. Place those who have wronged you into God’s care. He will deal with them better than you ever could. Then take a deep breath and rest knowing the one who made the universe is looking out for you. He will deal with all matters and all people involved.
When you do forgive you position yourself into a place that God can bless you. Kingdom process, Kingdom living, results in Kingdom blessings!
