God is so Good!
God is so good ➖He’s so good to me!”
You may remember that simple little song from the ‘60’s (or maybe not😉) But we would add verses to it as we sat around the “Kum-By-Yah” circle of youth and talked about Jesus!
“He saved my soul,” or “He set me free,” or “I love Him so,” and on we would go recalling and singing of His goodness and love to us!
You know, perhaps we should take more time to enjoy the simple things a bit more these days. If you don’t have a full band, and all the trappings for worship, we don’t think we can have “worship.” But let me tell you, those 60’s kids were coming out of the drug culture, and finding real freedom in Jesus Christ and they knew how Good He had been to them!
And I was coming out of my “little miss goody-two-shoes ways” to realize that all those “sinners” were every bit as qualified as I to have salvation by grace through faith! “He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit.” (Titus.3:5 NLT)
So today, as I’m talking to a Hospice nurse about my 91-year-old mother’s care (not terminal care but long-term nursing care); and I’m rejoicing that my friend, Billie, who had two stents inserted in her heart ❤️ is doing well and doctors say she’ll feel 20-years younger; and my sister Phyllis may have a donor for the kidney she needs; and my husband (after 15-years of heart issues and other attacks against his body) is painting on his Lion of Judah ... I’m singing “God is So Good!”
Yes! Once again - 50+ years later - I’m thinking of my “circle” of friends and family in whom I see our loving, powerful God at work!
Different seasons and different reasons, but the same God who gave Noah wisdom to save his family and ride the storms of life, is the same God who cares for me and you. He is the SAME - yesterday, today and forever! (Hebrews.13:8 NASB)
He has said, “Live content with what you have, for you always have God’s presence. For hasn’t he promised you, ‘I will never leave you alone, never! And I will not loosen my grip on your life!’
So we can say with great confidence: ‘I know the Lord is for me and I will never be afraid of what people may do to me!’” (Hebrews.13:5-6 TPT)
His Love, His Presence, His Power ... and all that Jesus is - is yours! Believe it! Receive it! And Live freely in His Grace and Mercy ... what a life we have! Enjoy this day, enjoy your life ... because Our “God is so Good ➖He’s so good to me! (and you too!) ~ Shelia Hart Artt
