He Heals All My Diseases!
HE HEALS ALL MY DISEASES! Daily Word - Jan.5.2019 - Pastor Sheliah
➖”Bless the Lord, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. 2)Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; 3)Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; 4)Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; 5)Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.” (Psalm 103:1-5 NASB)
It was not the normal Tuesday morning, though I was meeting with the normal group at the normal place for the regular weekly women’s prayer group. But that particular morning, in September 1978, was a very significant day, especially for me.
I was scheduled to enter the hospital in Little Rock that evening in preparation for surgery to remove a tumor from the left side of my face. Yes, that same area where I had, over the past 12-years, already had six surgeries to remove what up to now had been cancerous tumors, every time. A couple of weeks before, my dentist had discovered the tumor as I was having x-rays for dental work. He said it appeared to be the size of a silver dollar, which would mean it was larger than any of the previous tumors that had been in my mouth.
So as we worshipped and prayed that morning, my friend, Pete, asked that each one share a verse of praise and worship and then specifically pray that my surgery go well and that there be no more cancer! I happened to be the last one to pray, and as others shared and prayed, I heard, “Shelia, open your Bible and read Psalm 103,” repeatedly. Why was my Father repeating it? Because I was, as I’m known to do, wanting to do it “my way.”
Yes! I heard Him say open your Bible and read! But I told him, “Lord, I know that verse, I don’t have to look it up. I can just quote it. “Bless the Lord, Oh my soul, and all that is within me, Bless His Holy Name.” I mean, I played that song for congregational singing nearly every Sunday, as it was a newer and very popular praise song. So I didn’t want to “open my Bible,” I wanted to quote the verse, or perhaps even sing the song. But He said it again, “Shelia, open your Bible and read Psalm 103.”
OK! I get it! And surprise! Surprise! As I opened my New American Standard Bible (the one I had heavily marked up for two previous years), I read what I knew those first two verses to say, “Bless the Lord, Oh my soul, and all that is within me, Bless His Holy Name! Bless the Lord, Oh my soul, and forget not all His benefits.”
But I did not remember what He was saying in verse three, “Who pardons your iniquities and Who heals all your diseases!” WOW! There it was! My promise for healing of the cancer that had been attacking my body since I was 18-years-old.
As I read that verse aloud to the group of ladies, I believe everyone in that group received the “Rhema” the Revelation, the Living Word that pierced deep in my Spirit at that moment, and I knew! I knew that God was removing the cancer from that tumor in my face! I was elated! I was now so excited to prove His Word true, and I just knew that they would not find any cancer in my face when they did the surgery the next morning!
So we celebrated His goodness, faithfulness and the living promises we were claiming for our lives! I had been studying about walking in Faith, believing for His Rhema word to change me, and now I was experiencing that!
Talk about a supernatural day! That Tuesday was certainly not the “norm” - but suddenly everything had new Life and Purpose - to each of us meeting for prayer that day!
Yes! I was healed, but not immediately. I'll tell you more in a later article. But God always is faithfully teaching us in every circumstance, more about how He works and builds our Faith.
Be blessed and encouraged! Have a wonderful weekend ... Hope to see you at The Glory Barn this Sunday (10:30 am). ❤️ Shelia Hart Artt
