"HE PUT A NEW SONG IN MY MOUTH"

Daily Word - 08.21.19-Pastor Sheliah

“Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.” (Psalm.19:14 NKJV)

As I consider that once again a “knife” was used on my throat and yet, once more, I live to give testimony of God’s goodness to me, my words are full of gratitude and praise!

At 18-months-of-age my tonsils were removed. At 18, I had cancer surgery in my mouth and throat. Six more times in the next 12-years I had surgery in my mouth and throat for the recurring cancer and nothing has been able to keep me from declaring His healing and keeping power in my life.

Then radiologist/oncologist zapped my face & throat with 8510-rads of high-power radiation (1978). And yet, my Savior saved me again and again.

Even when at age 31, I was kidnapped and raped at knife-point - held to my throat with threatenings of death - God delivered me from the enemy’s hands!

When the doctor told me last week he would make a couple of small incisions in my neck to insert the balloon and stent into the carotid artery, I never expected to come out with a cut across almost my entire throat!

But I’m rejoicing that this procedure has helped to restore my vision and oxygen to my brain so I’m seeing and thinking better! I also think that some of the scar tissue in my ear canal was removed (or minimized) because I can hear better too!) (He is restoring my youth!)

My prayer partner during the final victory over cancer - gave me a verse that I’ve remembered all these years - Psalm.40:3 - “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear, And will trust in the Lord.”

I took this as a challenge and every time someone complements my smile or my face, I share what God has done to preserve them both. Doctors said I would lose my teeth and my voice, and that my face would age rapidly! But 41-years later, I “sing” that song that never grows old of His healing power and what He has done for me!

So once again I’m reminded that though the enemy intended evil against me - God has preserved my mouth and throat as a witness that He is my Strength and my Redeemer‼️
