I Saw Your Name in the Hall of Faith!

DAILY WORD - 10.06.18 - Pastor Sheliah
Rom.12:3 — For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.
Often we think of the list of "heroes" listed in Hebrews 11 as “extraordinary” folks – who did amazing things (as if they could do anything on their own!) When in fact, what they experienced – and you can too – was seeing God perform His purpose and will in their lives!
However, they were “regular” (common) folks who believed their Extraordinary God and because they exercised the Faith that He had given them… they saw God do the most amazing things in their lives. Their “acts of faith” (as the Message Bible calls it) are what we see recorded in Hebrews 11.
Though we can read the detailed accounts of many of their lives – in the Old Testament – Hebrews 11 recounts many of the Holy Spirit demonstrations – where God showed Himself mighty in their situations (their problems and their disappointments) and He was glorified and lifted up in their life and in their testimony – which now encourages us.
What will be written as your “acts of faith”? Believe me – when there is a challenge facing you – it is God’s “set-up” in your life to strengthen your faith and show Himself mighty in you! He will do “amazing” things for you! He will take every opportunity to show His might and power in your weakest times. He is perfecting you!
James 1:2-4 – “Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.”
“Through acts of faith, they toppled kingdoms, made justice work, took the promises for themselves. They were protected from lions, fires, and sword thrusts, turned disadvantage to advantage, won battles, routed alien armies.
“Women received their loved ones back from the dead. There were those who, under torture, refused to give in and go free, preferring something better: Resurrection.
“Others braved abuse and whips, and, yes, chains and dungeons. We have stories of those who were stoned, sawed in two, murdered in cold blood; stories of vagrants wandering the earth in animal skins, homeless, friendless, powerless—the world didn’t deserve them!—making their way as best they could on the cruel edges of the world.
“Yet not one of these people, even though their lives of faith were exemplary, got their hands on what was promised. God had a better plan for us: that their faith and our faith would come together to make one completed whole, their lives of faith not complete apart from ours!” (Heb.11:38-40)

You are “chosen,” qualified and purposed to fulfill His greatest dreams with you as the leading role! There are those (saints of old) who have not yet “fulfilled” their ultimate purpose and eagerly await the completion of all He intends for you!” (Heb.11:16) What a time to be alive!
