Jesus Only

"And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only."
Matt. 17:8
Jesus first is the mantra of those who want to live a successful Christian life. Jesus only is the mantra of those who want to change the world. A portion of Christianity teaches that Jesus should have first consideration in the desicion making process of a believers life. But no one really thinks or lives like Jesus should have the only consideration. This is part of the difference by which the early church and the modern church function.
We believe in Jesus first, they believed in Jesus only. We think we're radical in thinking Jesus first, The cloud of witnesses must think we're lame. Learn this principle sometimes "good"
is the enemy of "best." In the modern church we are quick to choose what is good over what is best, and we are poorer for having done so. "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus." In this season reach for the best and don't settle for just the good. Ruminate.
