“Lifted Hands” -

Pastor Rusty - April 30, 2024

And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.” Exo. 17:11

I’m amazed by this story from both a historical and prophetical perspective. First, it’s mind boggling that Yahweh, would hinge the outcome of the battle on Moses’s, ability to keep his hands raised. This was a life and death situation for Joshua and the Israelites just a few weeks after they came out of Egypt. Looking at it metaphorically you can appreciate the importance of finishing an assignment. To many times we come up short like Saul and say, “Blessed be thou of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD. And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?” 1 Sam. 15:13-14. We say we’ve fulfilled an assignment but fail to fulfill the physical aspects of said assignment. We think because we thought it in our hearts it’s the same as speaking it in person. Or if God told you to walk the land and pray, it’s the same to drive the land and park.🤔 Or if the Lord told you to be somewhere in presence and you say,” But, I was there in spirit!” Sometimes the physical responsibilities is part of the assignment. Remember, when you hold your hands up Israel wins! When you let your hands hang to your side Amelek wins. Think about it.🤔 “Father, help us be obedient in all things. Even when we don’t understand the reason behind it. Even if is humbling. In Jesus name! Amen!”
