The Hebrew word sabbath (Shabbat) doesn't mean holy day, it simply means rest. For God rested on the seventh day from His works. Gen. 2:2. The key principle of creating a sabbath in your life is ceasing from your works and entering into His.
When we strive to accomplish a task only to watch the Father step in and show us how easily He can accomplish this task, you begin to see the principle of the sabbath.
The priest wore light linen garments when ministering in the Holy Place so as not to perspire in God's presence. Ezekiel 44:18. The principle is to remove the human effort from the operation of His house. It is the principle of ceasing from your own works and entering into His allowing the Holy Spirit to work through you. The Hebrew word Levi (associate) means to partner with God. Ceasing from your own works, your own way of doing things, and not taking credit for success is key to this partnership. Give God all the credit, all the Glory, in this season.
