Say What? Kingdom tools!!
Acts 19:1-6 1While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples 2and asked them, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" They answered, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit." 3So Paul asked, "Then what baptism did you receive?" "John's baptism," they replied. 4Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus." 5On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the LORD Jesus. 6When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
This New Testament information is left out of a lot of our religious churches. Some choose to ignore it, others act as though Paul didn’t really mean what he plainly stated and what actually took place, they spoke in tongues. It scares some but if you are wanting to be a full Kingdom of God person you will need the increase and advantage being filled with the Holy Spirit will bring to your table. I agree there have been abuses of this gifting but you can’t throw the baby out with the bath water. For all true and real operations of God there are also imitations used to confuse and turn people away. Satan is like an angel of light that seeks to be back in the position he once held before God evicted him.
If you have never been filled with the wonderful gift from Jesus I want to encourage you to ask God to fill you with the Holy Spirit. You don’t have to be filled to go to heaven, Jesus provided that door and it was not contingent upon you speaking in tongues. But if you want more power in your prayers, more direction in your walk, I urge you to seek the Holy Spirit.
You may only receive two words of an unknown tongue, but more will come as you step out into it.
Seek God, reach for more, and be willing to receive.
A person who knows all, seen all, done all, is not usable in the Kingdom. We must be teachable.
Go ahead and ask for the comforter to come to you. I am hear to cheer you on!
Walking in His Kingdom always reaching for more!
