“That night the Lord said to him, “Take the bull from your father’s herd, as well as a second bull, one that is seven years old. Pull down your father’s Baal altar and cut down the nearby Asherah pole. Then build an altar for the *Lord your God on the top of this stronghold according to the proper pattern. Take the second bull and offer it as a burnt sacrifice on the wood from the Asherah pole that you cut down.” Judges 6:25-26
Gideon is poised to bring the greatest victory to the Children of Israel since the days of Joshua. But before he can engaged the Midianites to bring victory to Israel he had to do some soul searching and house cleaning. Before deliverance can come to Israel he has to deal with pagan altars in his father’s own house. Before revival can come to the household of God it has to come to your house first.🤔 There are three parts to this action when dealing with altars within your own life. These hidden altars allow fear and deception to remain in your life when you should be operating in faith. If you have a propensity to operate in faith for ten minutes then depression for twenty minutes then understand there is a platform (altar) in your life that is allowing this to happen. “Lord I believe! But help my unbelief.” Mark 9:24. Tearing down altars of fear and deception can be tricky if you can’t identity them. When you can identify them it is not sufficient to simply repent when recognizing their existence. It is equally important to build an altar unto the Lord in it’s place.🧐 You ask how do I do that?🤔 Good question! After you identify and pluck up by the roots all aspects of a pagan altar, you need to sanctify that ground by building an altar unto the Lord in it’s place. Begin to pray over what’s has transpired in the removal of one altar and sanctify that part of your thought process that used to be occupied by idolatry with prayer. Pray into this as you think about it and move forward. “Holy Father, cleanse us from pagan mindsets of fantasy and fear, bring TRUTH in the place of deception! Reveal yourself to us in a greater way and consume our days with thoughts of you. In The Name of Yeshua! Amen!” – Pastor Rusty
