The man Jesus

"Search the scriptures for in them you think you have life, but these are they that testifies of me, and you'll not come to me that you might have life." John 5:39-40.

The Jews that Jesus was talking to were angry because Jesus had healed a lame man on the sabbath and they were ready to kill him for it. He rebuked them for their closed religious hearts

and explains they can't see the trees for forest. (Metaphorically speaking) And that they were trusting in their knowledge of the scriptures,but they were missing the life that was before them.

We can be like latter day Pharasees sometimes and trust in our own interpretations of scriptures while failing to trust in the person of Jesus. Not in the concept of Jesus or the theory

of Jesus, or in the theology of Jesus, but in the person of Jesus.

Now understand they weren't ignorant pretend theologians, but men schooled in scriptures with access to the oldest manuscripts and could SPEAK both Hebrew and Greek, and still they couldn't

see him for who he was. Don't you know know if you were a follower of Jesus back then you did so without the collective endorsement of the whole religious community. In HIM was life and the LIFE was the light of men. To this day some of the most learned theologians

will try to prevent you from experiencing the power of Jesus Christ because their theology won't permit them to do so. So they trust solely in the limitation of their interpretations. They feel this is safe. But Jeasus is calling us to true encounter where

your life is radically changed by faith in him. Don't let man rob you from the life that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. God bless always. Bro Rusty
