Timeless

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever." Heb. 13:8

When I look at this passage I immediately see that God's word says that Jesus is the same as he always was and he always will be. That if He ever had ability at one point He still has ability now. If He ever healed sickness He still does. He has not changed in authority or ability. "I am the Alpha and the Omega", says the Lord God. The one who is, who was, and who is to come. The All powerful." Rev 1:8. This is Jesus' opening salutation to John in His revelation on the Ilse of Patmos. This is late in John's life and ministry. John knew Jesus, and not just from His ministry as the son of man, but he also knew the resurrected glorified Jesus, (I John1:1,2). But now Jesus is revealing a whole other side of Himself to John. The Alpha and the Omega. The eternalness of Christ. John declared Jesus as the eternal life in I John 1:2. And that when we embrace Christ we are embracing and receiving the same eternal life. But our eternal life has a beginning even though it has no end. His eternalness has no beginning or end. You have to think eternal in both directions. His past is equally eternal as His future. "Before Abraham was, I Am." He not only has not changed according to Heb.13:8, He forever has been the same! Timeless. Jesus functions outside of time. You have a past, present, and future, He on the other hand is timeless. When declaring to Moses concerning who He was He simply said, "I am!" YHWH (I exist). I always Am. Alpha and omega!
