Today’s Oak Is A Little Nut That Stood It’s Ground!
DAILY WORD➖Feb.13.2019-Pastor Sheliah➖ Several years ago I was privileged to minister with a wonderful group of women here in Branson in a meeting hosted by Barbara Fairchild, called “Being a Real Woman in An Unreal World.” Each speaker had an amazing testimony and obviously not one of them had what others might consider a normal life!
Clearly life’s reality is far greater than what we can see with our physical eyes. These women are living proof of a greater reality than the circumstances of their lives.
Yes, we are “seated in Heavenly places in Christ Jesus far above all principalities and powers;” and we know that “all things are under His feet”; therefore, because we are “in Christ” – all things are “under our feet”!(Ephesians.1:20-22)
We live by faith which is the substance of God’s reality. Therefore, we cannot trust what we “see” – but we Trust Him! (“Seeing Him who is unseen.” Hebrews.11:27).
Jesus told us that… “In this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world”(John.16:33). And the early apostles clearly came to understand, as Paul wrote, “For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for Him.” (Philippians.1:29).
➖ No matter what you are experiencing ➖ No matter what you are facing ➖ No matter the opposition in your life ➖ God is always working in your life to strengthen you and to show Himself mighty to and through you!
Have you read the story of Shammah? “One time the Philistines gathered at Lehi and attacked the Israelites in a field full of lentils (a pea patch). The Israelite army fled, but Shammah held his ground in the middle of the field and beat back the Philistines…”
Is there a little pea patch in your life that you are standing alone to defend? It may not appear to be much to others, but God has given you this assignment and He is giving you the strength to “hold your ground” and beat back the enemies that have come to destroy! Shammah valued what he had been given, and not only did he defeat the enemy… the passage ends … “So the Lord brought about a great victory!” (2Samuel.23:11-12).
No one else in that Israelite army saw the value of the pea patch, but when everyone else fled, Shammah stood his ground. And so he is considered one of David’s mighty warriors, recorded for us to read today, and his pea patch became a place of honor to His God!
Now! That’s real life! When you come through the challenges and others see that “the Lord brought a great victory” … then Jesus receives the honor and glory for the victory! It’s not your ability – It’s His! It’s His Life and Resurrection Power in you that strengthens you to beat back the enemy!
I recently read: “Today’s oak is a little nut that stood its ground!” Wow! I can so identify with that statement!
Perhaps you have been considered a “nut” by others?
Well, you are in good company, but God is building you up and making you a mighty oak – that you “will be called an oak of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified!” (Isaiah.61:3).

“Stand your ground!”
What an Outrageous Life is ours in the Reality of Christ … living in us! Bringing victory – after victory to us! Revealing Himself to the world around us!
