“If you don't know, O most beautiful of women, simply follow the tracks of my flocks, and pasture your little lambs by the tents of the shepherds,” Song of Solomon 1:8
Following the sheep’s path and learning to read the road signs of life. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees and Sadducees in Matt. 16 when he said, “When it is evening you say it will be fair weather for the sky is red. And in the morning, there will be a storm today for the sky is red and threatening. Do you know how to discern the appearance of the sky but cannot discern the signs of the times.” In two thousand years a great number in religious circles are still spiritually dull in there senses, incapable of seeing the signs. We aren't taught or trained to read the spiritual road map of life. We misrepresent the season we're in or are too carnal to see the path that leads to fulfillment. For starters, learn to recognize the sheep path. Look to see if there is legitimate spiritual fruit coming from those who follow that path. Rather than following a path simply out of convenience or tradition. Also learn to recognize signs; Spiritual markers in life that bring affirmation or conformation. Finally, understand your goal or your destination. In this case it was the “shepherd's tent”. Is there a place of fellowship in God that you believe is attainable? Are you even on a path that leads to it? Are you discerning the season your in? All legitimate questions one should be asking.
