Types of prayer #3- Healing prayer
Daily Word - Jan. 28th, 2019
Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. James 5:14-15
The Lord says to call for the elders or leaders of the church to pray over you and yes you will be healed. I think the hardest thing is to pray for yourself or someone and not see immediate results. We like the miraculous to function and we as God’s children love to see His hand move!
Sometimes the body takes a while to react. I was in Nicaragua walking down a dirt road with my host pastor and several church members when someone came up asking my host pastor if we could come to their house and pray for this man who was dying. The pastor turned and asked me if it would be ok and I said yes let’s go. So we took off down this dirt road which turned into a trail until we came to a little bamboo hut. They led us in and there on a piece of plywood with a thin worn cover was a tiny skinny little man. He was so frail and smelled like death. He was not moving. We laid hands on him and rebuked the spirit of death off of him. After a few minutes of prayer for health to come to his body I asked God to let the man ask for some food and I would take it as a sign that he was going to be well. Remember he hadn’t moved since we had arrived. As we stopped praying he turned toward us and asked for food! They said he hadn’t been eating at all. Well we left and I felt sure I had my answer that he would recover. It was latter that week that my host pastor Informed me that a lady had come from that village and had reported that the man was up and doing good! Now that is the kind of results we want! Healing not sickness!
Sometimes we have to keep believing while sometimes the answer is right there very quickly. I don’t know why that is. I don’t know why some people are instantly healed miraculously and some seem to strive on. I do know that it is God’s well to heal us. I do also know it never was God’s intention that we should get sick, age, and die. All of that came in the fall of Adam & Eve. Jesus has paid for and provided a way for use to walk in health.
The prayer for healing can be in the form of commanding our bodies to line up and correct according to the way God intended it to be. I have watched as people’s backs have been healed while commanding the spine and muscles to line up and function normally.
I was praying over a little deaf girl in Nicaragua. Nothing happened as I prayed my calm little “Jesus please heal her and let her hear” prayer when all is a sudden I saw like a cartoon bubble where someone would be talking in a cartoon. In this bubble was my dad. He had seen deaf ears open, dead raised, cripples walk, demons cast out, and blind eyes open when he was here on earth. He said to me “Belinda Kay! You know how to do this! You take authority over that deaf and dumb demon and command it to loose her!” So I did. And the little girl could hear! God also healed her mother of deaf and dumbness as well! Sometimes I believe God lays things in front of us to see how we will react to it. Are we going to allow this sickness to engulf us or are we going to take authority over it and receive our healing.
I am not anti-doctor at all. I do believe we should be consulting God in all issues. Remember He is God who has made all things including your body.
I heard Bill Johnson state that the time to learn to walk by faith isn’t when you have a loved one laying there dying. Learn it now and be ready for whatever life hands you.
Prayer for healing should come naturally to God’s children. It is not your place to make healing happen, that’s God’s, but it is your place to ask.
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you” Matt. 7:7
Keep praying, keep believing.
