WHAT TIME IS IT?

- May.20.2023 - #mamashelia

“Pay attention to the time! You will see an alignment in the timing that will confirm that you are right on time for God’s purpose in your life!”

Several years ago we received a simple word to encourage us that has carried me through many a situation when I could have otherwise been frustrated.

A prophet who was ministering in our fellowship, suddenly turned and said, “Pay attention to the time! You will see an alignment in the timing that will confirm that you are right on time for God’s purpose in your life!”

He continued, “You will begin to notice when the clock reads 3:33 (or 4:44, etc), confirming that moment is in alignment for your life. I’ve seen it happen, from that day forward – time after time! I’ve seen a digital clock with three numbers aligned, many times!

For instance, I might have a sense that I am “late,” or may have “missed” something, but when I see the numbers aligned I am reminded that God is perfecting His timing in me!

“Whew!” I can take a deep breath – realign my attitude and rejoice in His working in my life. I am reminded that everything is in His hands; He controls my days and nights; and He controls my years; plus He aligns my days; and He “directs my steps” (Proverbs.3:6).

“For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven” (Ecc 3:1) And we read in the Psalms, “My times are in Your hand…” (Psalm 31:15)

Though an old way of thinking (ruled by the Law and not love) might say I was guilty and put me under condemnation for my tardiness, God comforts me with that simple “word” that has worked in me to change my thinking (i.e. my “stinking-thinking”). Perhaps you’ve heard it - You know – that “evil voice” that says that “I am wrong and inadequate.”

Yes! I have seen God’s hand in my life, as I drove by a car accident, and thought, “I could have been right here, had I been a few minutes earlier.” Or perhaps just as I walk into the grocery store and see someone right there who needs my encouragement and I could have missed them had I arrived sooner.

I’m not excusing bad behavior; consistently being late and making others wait on you. But I am saying that TIME is a gift from a loving Heavenly Father, and He has ordered your days for His greater purpose!

It’s not about the day on a calendar or a number on the clock. It is about God’s timing and purpose in your life! God’s ways are always above your ways, and His timing is perfect – therefore you can trust Him with your plans and schedule.

James wrote this about your timing, “Look here, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.’ How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog-it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, ‘If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that’” (James.4:13-15).

Don’t miss His purpose for your life by pushing your agenda. He will bring your life in alignment and you’ll begin to see that you are “Right On Time!” for His purpose and plans in your life!

So, really what God is doing is an eternal work and you are an eternal being, so His heart is to encourage you that you are in perfect alignment for His assignment -today- and every day of your temporary time on earth! Our God lives in eternity!

Don’t waste another minute waiting for the “perfect time”! Behold! “Now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (2Cor.6:2)
