Who's your Daddy?

"You are of your father the devil and the lust of your father you will do."

John 8:44

This is a troubling statement. Jesus was speaking to the most religious people on the planet. The Jews. And he was speaking to the most religious group within the most religious couture on the planet. The Pharasees. He was addressing the religious elite within the house of Israel. He said they were of their father the devil.

You have to take in that they thought they were accurately representing God and that they were the defenders of the faith. But they were part of the fruitless religious system that was opposing the Christ. They indeed were very antichrist. When Jesus tells them they are of their father the devil, they flipped their religious wig.

Consider this, whose heart are you representing? Jesus rebuked James and John and told them, "Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of." Luke 9:55. It's interesting that we are constantly

molding God into our image. Instead of being "conformed into His." Be careful for you may be representing your father, just not the Heavenly Father.
