Watchman Nee, (November 4, 1903 – May 30, 1972), was a Chinese church leader and Christian teacher who worked in China during the 20th century. In 1922, he initiated church meetings that may be considered the beginning of the local churches in China.
During his thirty years of ministry, Nee published many books expounding the Bible. He established churches throughout China and held many conferences to train Bible students and church workers. Following the Communist Revolution, Nee was persecuted and imprisoned for 20-years (where he was tortured for his faith) and he died in prison. He was honored by the US Congress on July 30, 2009.
❤️ His writings have inspired and touched my life since the 1970's when I was first introduced to his teachings. He is much-quoted, but I selected a few to share with you today. Be blessed as you read these and hide them in your heart. They will come back when you need to know... ❤️ [sha]
"Because the Lord Jesus died on the Cross, I have received forgiveness of sins; because the Lord Jesus rose from the dead, I have received new life; because the Lord Jesus has been exalted to the right hand of the Father, I have received the outpoured Spirit. All is because of Him; nothing is because of me." ~ Watchman Nee
"Sadly, many people, after a while, begin to doubt their salvation. They say that they do not feel like they did when they first got saved. But the problem lies in themselves, not in God. For they have trusted their feelings rather than in what God has done.
"We must learn from the Passover experience; the firstborn did not see the blood on the doorposts, yet the death angel passed over. For God had said, “When I see the blood, I will pass over.”" (Exodus.12:13) ~ Watchman Nee
"Outside of Christ, I am only a sinner
But in Christ, I am saved.
Outside of Christ, I am empty,
In Christ I am full.
Outside of Christ, I am weak,
In Christ, I am strong.
Outside of Christ, I cannot
In Christ, I am more than able.
Outside of Christ, I have been defeated,
In Christ, I am already victorious.
How meaningful are the words, “In Christ.”?"
