Are You Waiting in Faith, or Just Waiting?

Isaiah 40:31 (KJV) says, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

There is a difference between waiting on God and waiting in faith for God. We can find ourselves waiting for an answer, a breakthrough, a promise to be fulfilled, or a door to open. But while we wait, what is happening in our hearts? Are we growing weary, doubting His Word, and wondering when He will move? Or are we standing in faith, trusting that He is faithful even when we cannot see what He is doing?

Faith changes the way we wait. Instead of sitting in discouragement, we wait with expectation. Instead of giving in to fear, we hold on to His promises.🕊️Instead of trying to make things happen in our own strength, we trust His timing and continue to obey His voice.

When we add faith to our waiting, we position our hearts to receive the strength, grace, and favor that come from walking closely with God. Waiting is not wasted time when we use it to grow in trust, deepen our relationship with Him, and prepare for what He has ahead.

Remember, the eagle does not gain strength by giving up in the waiting. Isaiah tells us that those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. So don’t just wait for God to move—wait believing, wait expecting, and wait trusting! The same God who gave you the promise knows exactly how to bring it to pass in His perfect time.

Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” As we wait we must focus on being strong. Not wavering but standing firm and reminding our heart of what God has already done and how He has always been faithful in the past. That will cause your heart to take courage!

Let's pray:

Father, teach me to wait on You with faith and expectation. Forgive me for the times I have grown weary or tried to work things out in my own strength. Help me trust Your timing, stand on Your promises, and remain faithful while I wait. Renew my strength and help me rise above discouragement as I keep my eyes on You. In Jesus’ name, Amen. - Pastor Belinda🕊️
