“The Unhappy Bride”

- Pastor Rusty - Aug. 24, 2023

“Then I heard what sounded like the voice of a vast throng, like the roar of many waters and like loud crashes of thunder. They were shouting: “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God, the All-Powerful, reigns!

Let us rejoice and exult and give him glory, because the wedding celebration of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

She was permitted to be dressed in bright, clean, fine linen” (for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints).” Rev. 19:6-8

I’ve officiated many weddings and participated in many wedding celebrations over the years. I’ve have never seen an unhappy bride. I’ve seen stressed out brides, “bridezillas” as they are called, stressed out over a ceremony, but I don’t recall ever seeing a truly unhappy bride, unhappy about getting married. If there were ever a bad omen, a sign for the groom to run for the hills, it would be marrying an unhappy bride. Most people getting married spend more time planning the wedding than they do planing the marriage. And for many, the wedding lasts longer than their marriage does. If you want an unhappy marriage, then marry an unhappy bride, (or groom). Look! This is a UNION! That’s what a marriage is, and the last thing you want to do is be united to an unhappy soul.🤔 If you’re angry/bitter you are not a candidate for marriage. Life can be hard enough without weighing yourself down with an angry unhappy soul. You think, if I can just get married, then I will be happy. It never happens. Your anger/unhappiness is compounded by being put into the wine press of a marital relationship. Now you have a whole new set of things to be angry about. If you are a young woman or young man thinking about getting married, do not marry an angry soul. You ask, “How do I know if they are an angry soul?” Take time to truly get to know them before you jump into a marriage. 🤔 You should not marry an unhappy bride…Jesus won’t. He is going to work out all her anger issues before this great wedding celebration. He is going to gift her with great JOY before His coming. A sign of the end times is a bride, happy and full of joy. “For the kingdom of God does not consist of food and drink, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Rom 14:17. Nobody wants an angry/bitter bride. Not even God. This is what the Lord says, “I’m going to restore joy to my bride in this season.” I’ve noticed as a token down payment on this promise an increase in joy in my own marriage. The Lord says, “This is a token of things to come.” Hallelujah! Amen.

“Holy Father, fill us with joy in the days to come, cause your bride to flow completely contrary to the angry spirit of the age. Cause her to be filled with joy at the idea of your appearing. In Jesus name. Amen.” -Pastor Rusty.
