Coverings Pt. 4

- Pastor Rusty - Jan. 19, 2024 “And thou shalt make a covering for the tent of rams skins dyed red, and a covering above of badgers skins.” Exo. 26:14

This outer covering of the tabernacle of Moses, was of leather animal skins. The translations differ on what kind of animal skins these actually were, ranging from badgers skins to seal skins, porpoise skins (highly unlikely) to goat skins. This leather outer covering wasn’t meant to be cosmetically appealing but rather highly functional for shedding water and protecting from the elements. This was the only curtain visible to the children of Israel (except for the priest who functioned in the Holy place). When it comes to spiritual coverings in our lives many Christians simply function without them. Most Christians simply look at denominational or institutional coverings that are organizational covering and are not a substitute for kingdom structure. When an institution is your covering then you become an “institutionalized” Christian that does not truly value that the Church was meant to be “family” not an institution. You were meant to have spiritual fathers and spiritual mothers. The kingdom of God was meant to function with a family paradigm that is relational. The outer covering of the tabernacle was to represent God’s design of Kingdom structure. “For though you have countless guides in Christ, you do not have many fathers. For I became your father in Christ Jesus through the gospel.” 1 Cor. 4:15. You were meant to experience the father/son paradigm in the church and without it you are incapable of functioning under heaven’s infrastructure. Your denominational/institutional coverings more oft than not prevents you from functioning in the kingdom, which is “familia”. The outer tent of the tabernacle was crude and unappealing but provided its own unique purpose. Can you be a Christian without spiritual mothers and fathers? Yes… but why would you want to? Your spiritual makeup yearns to have this connection in place. The body of Christ needs apostles and prophets to get where it is going. (Eph. 4:11,12). Not all spiritual fathers are apostles, but undoubtedly All Apostles are spiritual fathers.🤔 I have had a few over the years most of which have crossed over to the other side. When that happens their void is felt in my life. I have grown to understand they still encompass me (Heb. 12:1), but the dynamic has changed even though their intercession for me has undoubtedly increased. To live in a church paradigm without apostolic covering has left many vulnerable without much needed connection. You function solely with the dyed rams skins being in place, all the while sensing the need for that Holy bonding and covering. This covering also represents God’s “power structure”. It allows you to understand kingdom “authority” through a culture of honor. It will allow you to break lone wolf mentality. Even if you already function with a degree of authority you need this kingdom infrastructure in your life for spiritual covering. It will encourage and help facilitate your success. Let us pray. “Holy Father restore Kingdom structure in my life and provide me with legitimate spiritual coverings layered with apostolic and prophetic coverings. Cause the body of Christ to explode into a greater dimension of authority and power. In Jesus name! Amen!” Pastor Rusty
