Durable

“Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weakness so that the power of Christ may rest on me. That is why, for the sake of Christ, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.…” 2 Cor. 12:8-10
One translation renders this that each time Paul asked for this to be removed the Lord spoke, “my grace is sufficient for you… my power is perfected in weakness.” I would believe something the Lord repeats three times would be a paramount initiative. Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches.” Grace is what prevents the branches from drying out and dying on the vine. It’s what keeps you limber, playable, and green. Arrogance (pride), legalism, and self effort causes branches to become brittle… but grace is the lifeblood that flows from the vine to the branches. It doesn’t prevent the storm from coming, but it is what allows you to bend without breaking. How many of you have walked through your yard picking up dead branches after a storm. “Grace is sufficient!” It allows you to weather the storms of life.
Grace gives you durability. It gives you perspective. It keeps you humble. You realize that it is through no self effort of your own but it is by grace you are saved through faith. Eph. 2:8. Thank you Jesus! Your grace is sufficient! Amen! - Pastor Rusty
