“And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called woman because she was taken out of Man.
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” Gen. 2:23-25
This is interesting three verses from Moses rendering of the details of creation. The word “woman” in verse 23 is translated from the same Hebrew word (Ishshah) as the word “wife” in verses 24 and 25. I find it a little inconsistent seeing that it is the same Hebrew word in all three verses. I believe it should have been rendered wife in all three verses seeing that it had to do with identity of his helpmeet and not a proper name. Verse 23 also gives the first recorded spoken word from Adam, but verse 24 should not mistakenly be included as the words of Adam but rather the assertion of the narrator, Moses. Seeing Adam would have no concept of a father and mother at this time. God’s original intent is revealed in verse 25 as part of the creation concept. “They were both naked”. And they were not ashamed. The scripture teaches that, “Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” Heb. 4:13. God’s original intent did not include fig leaves. No man-made coverings or facades. I’m amazed at the amount of deceit that is practiced in the marital relationship in modern Christianity.🤔 We are constantly reaching for fig leaves to cover us from our mate, because we can never truly reveal who we are or what we’ve done. We hide, lie, and conceal. We practice deceit therefore we receive deceit. You practice deceit at one level or one direction but you are setting yourself to receive deceit at another level from many directions. When You sow deceit, you will be deceived. It’s the law of the kingdom. How do I break this cycle of deception?🤔 Good question! Start with your mate. Lose the fig leaves. Come clean and repent of marital deception before the Lord and your mate and see what happens. It is the beginning of an unbelievable transformation. God will remove deception from the marital bed. When deception is gone and TRUTH is restored then fear and fantasy can be dealt with, but not until the fig leaves are removed First. Be honest and come clean with your spouse and watch God remove the platform for pornography and fantasy from your marital bed. These two demonic entities work in concert for the destruction of the marriage covenant. They need to be addressed and repented of individually, laterally toward your spouse and vertically to God the Father.🤔 Let us pray. “Father, I pray for the exposure of the spirit of deception that is allowed to flourish in the marital covenant. Bring exposure to all its tentacle and devious operations. Bring light into the darkness that is eroding the marital covenant. And expose the fig leaves of religion and theology that we use to cover ourselves from each other and you. Destroy these deceitful practices and removes fantasy and pornography from the marital bed. We repent for allowing this darkness in our minds and in our home. Restore your original intent to the marital covenant. In Jesus name! Amen!” - Pastor Rusty
