Playing the God Card

“I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth.” I John 1:21 ESV

Over the years I’ve had situations where I’ve been giving council to someone and instead of making a strong argument for their cause they play the God Card. “God told me to do this!” This usually is when reason ends and emotions take over. I can’t tell how many times God has taken the blame for bad choices. Many times, I’ve heard professing believers tell me that “God told them” that this is what He wanted them to do. So many times in premarital council a couple will pull the God card concerning the relationship only weeks later watch it blow up and burn down in flames 🔥. Why do emotion driven Christians swim in pools of delusion and have the audacity to pull God into their narrative of self will. 🤔 God is not a liar or the author of confusion. (Tit. 1:2, I Cor. 13:33). Your credibility takes a hit the same way a false prophet who prophesies out of the soul instead of the Spirit. You reveal your inability to rightly discern the “Word of the Lord”. I’ve been amazed at how believers (like liberals) swim in pools of their own delusion and accept a false narrative only because it serves their own end. They are forced to believe their own malarkey because it serves their purpose. 🤔 Make your own decision but at least have the grace to leave God out of it. Quit blaming God for your bad choices in life. Stop playing the God Card for emotion driven decision in your life. Wake up to the Spirit of Truth! In Jesus name! Amen!
