“Holding faith and a good conscience. By rejecting this, some have made shipwreck of their faith,” 1 Tim. 1:19 ESV

The apostle expresses the value of keeping a good conscience.🤔 Modern Christianity has seemed to abandon this basic principle concerning faith. A defiled conscience can cause you to function outside of Shaloam. Without peace your ability to pray effectively is impeded.

To function at a high level in Christ, you must function at a high level in faith.🤔

You’ve been thought that to treat guilt as the work of satan. First of all, the only people who can’t experience guilt are sociopathic. Guilt can be a spiritual indicator that your behavior may not match your testimony. Two, you don’t want to be spiritually null, but to the contrary, you want to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s desires. This is why Paul said that some have made their faith shipwreck.

“Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” Prov. 4:23 ESV

The word “conscience” is from the Greek word “suneidesis”, the moral compass that God Himself created in man to set him apart from all other creation. Moral and spiritual conscience is to be spiritually aware and is in the part of creation that come from being made in His Image. Without a conscience you are not made in his image.

Protect your conscience from defilement, allow your faith to come alive in Christ where “all things are possible to him that believes.” Mark 9:23.
