“Now when the dragon realized that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child. But the woman was given the two wings of a giant eagle so that she could fly out into the wilderness, to the place God prepared for her, where she is taken care of, away from the presence of the serpent, for a time, times, and half a time.” Rev. 12:13-14

Of all the things in God’s mighty arsenal it might seem like a lackluster response from God that when “the woman arrayed as the sun” (Rev. 12:1) is being attacked by the dragon, God simply gives her wings to escape. He didn’t destroy the dragon. He simply gave her wings. Understanding God’s master plan of spiritual warfare might be frustrating to the carnal. But getting His people airborne is His plan of defense. We function way to much on the terrestrial. God’s wanting to take over the aerial war. He’s introducing His own airborne training through prophetic instruction. All military Special Forces have to take airborne training. God is initiating His own version of Airborne school through your prayer life. If you don’t have one, get one. Two, get connected with other prophetic prayer warriors. Three, you might have changed your wake-up times to accomplish this. Isaiah 40:31 becomes the Word of the Lord for this training, “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles.” We treat mounting up with eagle wings as metaphoric, but in the Spirit it takes on a more literal sense. You need to learn how to get elevated in the spirit, high above the ground warfare. You need an aerial view of the situation you’re facing. It won’t seem so insurmountable once you get airborne. Let us pray.
“Father of light, radically revolutionize our lethargic prayer life. Cause us to pray from the heaven’s downward not just the earth upward. Move us out of simply reactionary prayers. Enroll us in airborne school. Promote us with silver wings on our chest. In Jesus name.”
