“That night the LORD said to him, “Take your father’s bull, and the second bull seven years old, and pull down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the Asherah that is beside it and build an altar to the LORD your God on the top of the stronghold here, with stones laid in due order.” Judges 6:25-26

We want to break down the anatomy of success when involved in spiritual battle. First deal with a core reason why you might be in conflict. Deal with your own backyard.🤔 Instead of immediately trying to address what has come against you, address what is within you. In Gideon’s case study he had to address idolatry in his own house. He removed, cleansed and established an altar in the place of his idolatry. Pull down the poles (Asherah) and then build an altar. Anatomy of success in battle remove the offending conduct within and let everything be established in prayer. Do Not try to build an altar of prayer on an existing altar of idolatry. It will not succeed! Remove the offense and restore communion (communication).

Look for prophetic strategy!

The LORD said to Gideon, “The people with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hand, lest Israel boast over me, saying, ‘My own hand has saved me.” Judges 7:2

The enemy in this case is Midianites. Midianites is the enemy that attacks prosperity.🤔 Receiving prophetic input (hearing from the Lord) is paramount. Don’t assume you know the path to victory. Offering religious jargon in the place of prophetic strategy can produce hit and miss results. God has a plan and finding and following that plan is far more beneficial than assuming a strategy He hasn’t appointed for this time. In this particular case Gideon learned less is more. I little from God goes farther than a lot from man.🤔 Less is more becomes the mantra in this season conflict. God does need a lot of activity just a little agreement.🤔

Obeying the method

“And he divided the 300 men into three companies and put trumpets into the hands of all of them and empty jars, with torches inside the jars. And he said to them, “Look at me, and do likewise. When I come to the outskirts of the camp, do as I do. When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then blow the trumpets also on every side of all the camp and shout, ‘For the LORD and for Gideon.’” Judges 7:16-18

In this particular case they were required to release the sound of the “shophar” (Hebrew word for trumpet). Can you imagine the sound of 300 shofars sound at once. The releasing of this sound sent panic throughout the camp of the Midians. They were asleep in the night and were awakened with the sound of 300 shofars. It must have sent panic and terror throughout the camp. No commander of warfare would have believed you could fight and or win a battle without physical combat, there own training would have gotten in the way. Don’t let your denominational training rob you from success in conflict.

Believe God has a plan and a pathway to victory. Let God speak into your life… let Him address you before He addresses the Midianites in your life. And be willing to follow prophetic strategy to success.

“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Rom. 8:27
