Delilah

“After this he loved a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.” Jud. 16:4

You would be hard pressed to find a spiritual mistress that has done more harm to the body of Christ in modern times than the spirit of Delilah. 🤔 She is a “seducing spirit” (1 Tim. 4:1) that has corrupted the way of men of God for generations. When Samson met Delilah he was not a noob. He had been judging Israel for 20 years by that time, he had been around the mountain a few times as they say, he wasn’t ignorant, he functioned under the constraints of a Nazarite vow from birth. He was to refrain from the fruit of the vine, he was not to touch anything dead and was to never cut his hair. But as Samson’s life moved forward, he became careless and began to throw caution ⚠️ to the wind. He began to drink his own kool aid and believe he was invincible. 💪 First, he journeyed to Timnah a place of vineyards (Jud. 14:5). Second, he revisited a carcass of a lion he had killed and retrieved honey with his bare hands from the carcass. Third, he revealed to Delilah his secret while sleeping in her lap. As a result they cut his hair, he was blinded and taken captive by the Philistines.

When a man crawls in bed with Delilah the same thing happens every time. His ability to see by the Spirit and to make righteous judgments is defaulted resulting in spiritual blindness. Black and white judgements become a grey area… if he is a minister of righteousness he has to begin to tweak his theology to accommodate his desired lifestyle. Sin no longer looks sinful because of his blindness. Soon he will be making allowances for all kinds of corrupt behavior allowing his pursuit of pleasure to override the holiness of God. I’ve seen pastors, prophets, even apostles get caught up in pornography and begin to unwittingly pervert righteousness and their own ability to see by the spirit.🤔 Crawling in bed with Delilah is not a young man’s scourge but a scourge among all generations. Spiritually it will eat your lunch while you are making allowances for this new paradigm in your life… Blinding the judges of Israel. Like Paul, you find yourself crying out, “Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?” Rom. 7:24. “Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!”. Rom. 7:25. There is deliverance from Delilah! Halalujah! But you need to follow a simple two step process from the word of God.🧐 James 5:16, “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.” The word confess here is translated from the Greek word, “exolomogea” which means “to get it out”. Quit creating a cover (fig leaves🍃) for your sin. Get it out. Two, PRAY for one another. I would not go to anyone BUT a praying man! That includes all religious authority. You need a praying man. A praying man won’t condemn you (because he is a praying man)🧐. A praying man will pray!

“For the prayer of a righteous man has great power!”

Watch what God does when you follow this simple two step program! I’ve seen God bring release to many a men caught up in porn. I’ve literally seen demons come off of them, Through the power of prayer!
