Day 6 —

Pastor Belinda⛓️‍💥 - April 23, 2026

Chains fell from a tormented man.

Mark 5:6-16 tells us about an awesome deliverance that Jesus did. Let’s read it before we get started. “ Seeing Jesus from a distance, he ran up and bowed down before Him; 7 and shouting with a loud voice, he *said, “What business do You have with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, do not torment me!” 8 For He had already been saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” 9 And He was asking him, “What is your name?” And he *said to Him, “My name is Legion, for we are many.”10 And he begged Him earnestly not to send them out of the region. 11 Now there was a large herd of pigs feeding nearby on the mountain.12 And the demons begged Him, saying, “Send us into the pigs so that we may enter them.”13 Jesus gave them permission. And coming out, the unclean spirits entered the pigs; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea, about two thousand of them; and they were drowned in the sea.

14 Their herdsmen ran away and reported it in the city and in the countryside. And the peoplecame to see what it was that had happened.15 And then they *came to Jesus and *saw the man who had been demon-possessed sitting down, clothed and in his right mind, the veryman who had previously had the “legion”; and they became frightened. 16 Those who had seen it described to them how it had happened to the demon-possessed man, and all about the pigs.”

This man lived in the caves near the Sea of Galilee. When we were there in 2024 our guide took us there. She had heard I do deliverance and when we loaded on the bus that morning she said “i have something special for Belinda. We are going to the site where Jesus delivered the man and the demons went into the pigs.” I was so excited! As we viewed the area it just blessed my heart. I was standing where my Jesus had delivered someone that no body could help. The man was bound in chains and was tormented by the demons.

In Gospel of Mark 5:6–16 (NASB), we encounter a man bound by darkness—isolated, tormented, and beyond human help. Yet when he sees Jesus from a distance, everything begins to change. Even in his broken state, something in him recognizes authority, hope, and freedom. This reminds us that no matter how deep the bondage, there is still a place in us that can respond to Christ.

Jesus doesn’t avoid the man’s condition—He confronts it. The unclean spirits are exposed and expelled. What others had tried and failed to fix, Jesus resolves. The result is powerful: the man is later seen “sitting down, clothed and in his right mind.” That is the transforming work of Jesus:


* He brings peace where there was torment

* Order where there was chaos

* Identity where there was brokenness

Interestingly, the people who witnessed this miracle were afraid. Not of the demons—but of the power of Jesus. Sometimes transformation is unsettling to those who are used to dysfunction. But for the one delivered, it is life itself.

Where do you need Jesus to bring restoration today? Like the man, draw near—even if you feel unworthy or overwhelmed. His authority is greater than anything that binds you.

As we left the site our guide had our bus driver pull over at a little turn out. As we stood there she pointed out the caves above us where the man would have lived and how the demons went into the pigs and the pigs came down the hill and right into the Sea of Galilee. She said “you know why we are sure it was those caves? It’s because those are the only caves anywhere near the Sea of Galilee!” Such a sight to see! Or it was for me!

Jesus wants you free. He can break your bondage no matter what it is! All you have to do is ask him! Don’t just carry that bondage! Let Jesus give you freedom and life abundantly!
