“And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.” 1 Cor. 2:4-5

Paul’s ministry was defined by himself in this passage. His “modus operandi” was to minister in Spirit and power, sort of a one two punch as it were. To this end… “That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men”… “but in the power of God.” A lot of modern Christianity is the opposite of this. Our faith rest solely in the teaching of man. With the demonstration of the Spirit your faith has no where else to go. The word Spirit is translated from the Greek word pnuema. Paul is speaking of the Holy Spirit. Demonstration of the Holy Spirit. The church by and large has existed without the demonstration of the Spirit so long it has forgotten its origin. The Ekklesia was birthed into the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost and is still in need of the Spirit’s demonstration today. Second the ministry was to function in power. The word power is translated from the Greek word dynimas. This is where we get the word dynamite. He is talking about supernatural power, The explosive kind.

We have interaction with a supernatural God. It would cause expectation that there would be supernatural demonstrations. There is no God like our God! “Be hold I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is there anything to hard for me?” Jer. 32:27 I assume this is rhetorical. Because the answer is NO! Nothing is to hard for our GOD! Pastor Rusty
