“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.” I Pet. 1:34.

The Holy Spirit brought this word to my attention on my recent road-trip to Mexico. Many look at the Christian experience as a self help/self improvement program. You are to act better, behave better, hopefully live better and have a better life. While this may indeed be an outcome the New Testament gives a little different take on cause and effect. You are expected to be a “Partaker of Divine Nature.” This isn’t a self help program through “self effort.” There is an expectation of infusion of Divine Nature.🤔 You weren’t expected to just encounter Him (Christ), you are expected to receive from Him. Receive what? You ask! Divine Nature🧐! This is part of the plan that includes “all things that pertain to life and godliness.” When fallen nature encounters Divine Nature, Divine Nature wins because Devine Nature is superior. Divine Nature is eternal, full of wisdom and functions in the knowledge of the Holy. (Prov. 9:10).

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, with whom there is no change or shifting shadow.” James 1:17. What’s from above is perfect and good and eternal. What is from the earth is earthly and temporal. God is giving you access to His Divine Nature. Legitimate Christianity functions in Divine Nature… think about it.🤔
