Hunger and Thirst for God

- How to experience His presence Part 5 - Pastor Belinda🌷- Aug. 3rd, 2026

One of the greatest invitations in Scripture is to pursue God with a heart that longs for Him. God never ignores a soul that sincerely seeks His presence. He delights in revealing Himself to those who hunger and thirst for Him.

David declared, “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee…” (Psalm 63:1, KJV). His desire wasn’t merely for God’s blessings—it was for God Himself. A thirsty heart recognizes that nothing in this world can satisfy like His presence. His presence changes lives! His presence is what we long for!

Jesus echoed this truth in Matthew 5:6: “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” Notice the promise: those who hunger will be filled. Spiritual hunger attracts spiritual filling. The more we pursue Him in prayer, worship, and His Word, the more He satisfies our hearts with His peace, joy, wisdom, and power. It's Him that we long for! Once you have sat in His presence nothing will ever fill that place.

Today, ask God to increase your appetite for His presence. A hungry heart is a heart that God is eager to fill. Lord we want more of You! Fill us until we are over flowing!

Pray this with me:

Lord, awaken a deeper hunger within me. Let my soul thirst for You above all else. Fill me with Your presence, Your righteousness, and Your Spirit as I seek You with all my heart. Amen.
