I had to have some test done yesterday on my heart. I am fine, but to tests themselves were a story on their own. I found myself alone in a machine kind of like an MRI machine. They shot me with nuclear medicine and let me know each thing they were doing. As I lay there I never felt alone. God was with me in the tube. My mind started quoting the names of God. That He is my rock, He is my shield. He is Jehovah Rafa! He is Jehovah God and there is none beside Him! As my heart called out these names and who He was to me I had peace. This went on thru the whole process. I know that it was the comforter who came. Yes it was a stressful event but when I turned my mind to who He is to me peace came.

I believe it is important to really know in your heart who He is. Aquaint yourself with Jehovah, it will bring good things to you!

Throughout Scripture, God reveals Himself through many names, and each one unveils another aspect of His character. His names are not merely titles—they are invitations to know Him more deeply and we need to do that! Every name reveals what He desires to be in the lives of His people.

When Abraham needed provision, God revealed Himself as Jehovah-Jireh—“The Lord Will Provide” (Genesis 22:14). When Israel needed healing, He declared, Jehovah-Rapha—“The Lord Who Heals You” (Exodus 15:26). Gideon encountered Jehovah-Shalom—“The Lord Is Peace” (Judges 6:24), while David rejoiced in Jehovah-Rohi—“The Lord Is My Shepherd” (Psalm 23:1). Moses met the eternal I AM (Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh), the self-existent One who never changes (Exodus 3:14).

The Hebrew word שֵׁם (shem), meaning “name,” carries a deeper meaning than simply an identifier. It represents a person’s character, reputation, authority, and nature. To know God’s name is to know who He is. Likewise, the Greek word ὄνομα (onoma), used throughout the New Testament, also signifies a person’s authority and character. This is why Scripture declares that salvation is found in the name of Jesus (Acts 4:12) and that every knee will bow at His name (Philippians 2:9–11).

God’s names remind us that He is everything we will ever need. He is our Provider when we lack, our Healer when we are broken, our Peace in the storm, our Shepherd when we are lost, our Righteousness when we have failed, and our Banner when we face battles. His character has never changed, and His names still reveal His heart today.

As you grow in your knowledge of God’s names, you also grow in your confidence in His faithfulness. Every name is a promise waiting to be trusted. Every name of God meets you where you are. Don't just read over them. Learn them and they will come alive to you!

I might do a deeper study on each of the names as we go forward. His name brought great peace and comfort to me and every test that has come back so far has been normal or even better than normal! YAY! God!
