What is lukewarm? What does that actually mean? Ask yourself, am I lukewarm? Jesus said in Revelation 3:15-16 ESV

“‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

Let’s look at the word “cold” used here. It is psychrós, meaning cold i.e. sluggish, inert in mind: of one destitute of warm Christian faith and the desire for holiness. So if we are not warm in our faith we are cold.

Now let’s look at the word “hot”. zestós, boiling hot, hot. metaph. of fervour of mind an zeal. Have you ever been around someone who is on fire, so to say, for Jesus? It’s contagious! They will make you wake up and share God’s goodness! Your spirit will light up and your faith will come alive. God wants us to be on fire for him!

Have you ever spent time with a “cold” Christian? You realize their walk with the Father isn’t very important to them. They tend to be a chameleon. They try to blend in with whatever they are around, making this distasteful to someone on fire or hot.

What’s your goal? Are you seeking the Lord for His will? Or are you walking with one foot in and one foot out? The Lord will eventually push you to decide whose side you are on.

Choose “hot”, pray for a passion for Him.

Father, I ask that you pull all the cold and lukewarm children into a Holy Ghost Fire! Cause them to become passionate for you! Light them up Jesus! Make a fire in their belly! Bring true repentance back into your house! Draw the sinners into the kingdom, in Jesus name! Amen!

Light the fire Lord!
