1 Thessalonians 5:17 -  Pray without ceasing.

Prayer is essential for maintaining your freedom. You can pray in your prayer closet. You can pray as you’re driving. You can commune with God all day long as you go about your day. I do believe you need a time where you can focus on the Lord and hear what He is speaking to you.

The word pray in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 comes from the Greek προσεύχομαι (proseúchomai), meaning to turn toward God, to exchange wishes, to worship. It implies relationship, not ritual. Paul is urging believers to live in constant communion with the Lord, where conversation with God flows naturally throughout the day.

To pray without ceasing is to invite God into every moment—our decisions, struggles, joys, and quiet thoughts. It is whispering a prayer while working, thanking Him in moments of joy, and calling on Him instantly when trouble arises. This kind of prayer keeps our hearts sensitive to the Holy Spirit and guards us from drifting into self-reliance.

Unceasing prayer also keeps us spiritually alert. When prayer becomes our rhythm, faith grows, peace settles in, and worry loses its grip. We begin to recognize God’s presence not just in crises, but in ordinary moments. Our lives become a continual offering of dependence and trust.

When you have been delivered the area inside of you where the demonic spirit used to reside must be filled with Jesus. If this space is not filled when the demons return, they will find the house swept and clean and will bring more demons worse than themselves. This person will be worse than before. (Matthew 12:43-45)

So equip yourself with prayer! You don’t have to be eloquent just talk to Him like you would a friend.

Let’s pray;

Lord, I ask that you increase the desire for prayer among your people. Teach us to pray with power! Teach us the value of time spent in your presence! Cause a hunger to grow for more of You!

In Jesus name, Amen!
