“That they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified.” Isa. 61:3b
I love this phrase I feel the Lord kissing it every time I read it. We have two massive oak trees in our front yard. If I were to guess I would say both are approaching 100 yrs of age. They are both strong and heathy. When building a new home man can create all kinds of beautiful external aesthetics. He can plant trees and shrubs and flowers both living and artificial ornaments. But only God gives 100 year old oak trees. They are nontransferable. The only way to have them is to build where they are already in place. They are the planting of the Lord. You can plant trees that spring up quickly, but oaks are generational. If you plant one today, only your grandchildren/great grandchildren will truly get the benefit of the oak tree. The Lord has earmarked some of you to be a generational blessing to your generations. David became a generational blessing to his seed after him. If you are to be a generational blessing to your house then you have to loose the need for instant gratification, validation or success. The lord is building something generational, “Oaks of righteousness, The Planting of the Lord.” Don’t worry about quick fixes. You may have to walk though (pray through something) something for years if not decades without wavering concerning the outcome. Relying solely on the Lord’s promise concerning the outcome.
“These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them from afar, and having embraced them, and having confessed that they are strangers and sojourners on the earth.” Heb. 11:13.
Oaks of righteousness are the planting of the Lord. Sometimes the Father plants a vineyard, sometimes a garden… but sometimes He plants oaks of righteousness. You have probably encountered a few of these in your lifetime. They tend to have an excellent spirit even though they’ve been to hell and back. They, like David have said, “If I ascend to the heavens, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, You are there.” Psa. 139:8. They know the address of Heaven and hell. But they are “Oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord.” Endured all types of storms. They are able to withstand direct sunlight (and love it) and filter shade for the children not used to direct sunlight. Oaks of righteousness tend to have spiritual sons and daughters because they are long term men and women of God.
Have you ever planted something you knew you would never see the full fruit or benefits from it. If there are generational curses (and there are) then there are generational blessings that carry over for generations to generation that Is generated from a faithful life. Think on these things and I’ll get back to you.
“Holy Father, make us the planting of the Lord. Cause our roots to sink deep and draw up moisture even in a dry season. Make us oaks of righteousness. In Jesus name… Amen!”
