In Luke 10:19 (KJV) it says;

“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you‼️”

Jesus did not speak these words as poetry or symbolism alone—He spoke them as a declaration of spiritual reality. When He said, “Behold,” He was calling His disciples to see, understand, and receive something that had already been granted. This authority was not earned by effort, maturity, or perfection; it was given by Christ Himself.

We have functioned under that authority numerous times and watched as the miraculous happened! Not in our authority but solely thru the authority of Jesus. Demons tremble at His name! In the middle of a deliverance one demon spike out and stated the he was afraid. When asked why he was afraid he said he was afraid for his fate. They know they are defeated, they know Jesus has won the victory over them‼️

The word power💥 in this verse comes from the Greek ἐξουσία (exousia), meaning delegated authority, the right to act, jurisdiction. Jesus was saying, “I authorize you. I place My authority upon you.” This is not human strength but heaven’s authority flowing through a surrendered life!

Christ does not promise that the enemy will not attempt to oppose us, but He promises that the enemy will not prevail. We do not fight for victory; we stand in victory already secured by the cross. During deliverance Satan will try his hardest to delay, tire, and frustrate the person doing the deliverance so that they stop and the demons can stay. They are defeated and all their efforts will not win over the authority of the Holy one of Israel!

Notice the phrase “over all the power of the enemy.” There is no category of darkness that outranks the authority of Christ. Fear, oppression, temptation, accusation, depression m, suicide, and spiritual resistance must bow to the name of Jesus. When we walk in obedience and alignment with Him, we walk covered, guarded, and empowered. It’s His might, not our might! 💥

This authority is not for pride or domination—it is for freedom, deliverance, and kingdom advancement. We tread underfoot what once threatened us because Christ has placed us in Him, seated above the enemy’s reach (Ephesians 2:6). Our confidence is not in ourselves, but in the One who speaks and heaven responds.

Today, stand firm. Do not shrink back in fear or passivity. You carry the authority of Christ—not because of who you are, but because of whose you are. Walk in humility, obedience, and faith, knowing that nothing the enemy sends can overturn what Jesus has declared.

You may ask “ how do I take authority over a demon?” You address him in the name of Jesus! You can say “ Satan in bind you and command this attack to stop in Jesus name‼️ You are defeated in the name of Jesus! Now go! In Jesus name‼️💥

Let me pray with you; Lord Jesus, I thank You that You have given me authority through Your name. Help me to walk in obedience, humility, and confidence—not in myself, but in You. Teach me to stand firm against the enemy and to trust fully in Your victory. I receive what You have given. In Jesus name, Amen‼️
