Walking in Sanctification – A 4-Day Devotional Series - By Pastor Belinda🌷 - May 4th, 2026

Day 1: Set Apart – Your New Identity

“But ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus…” — 1 Corinthians 6:11 KJV

Sanctification begins the moment you are saved. You are not striving to become God’s—you already belong to Him.

According to this scripture, you have already been:

* Washed — cleansed from sin

* Sanctified — set apart for God

* Justified — made right in His sight

This is not something you are trying to achieve—it is your position in Christ.

The word sanctified comes from the Greek word hagiazō, which means to set apart, to make holy, to dedicate for sacred use. This reveals something powerful: your life now has purpose. You are no longer common—you are consecrated. You are representing Jesus to the world.

Jesus didn’t just save you to escape sin—He saved you to reflect Him. His desire is not only that you be forgiven, but that you be transformed into His likeness. In Him, you are made complete—saved, sanctified, and justified.

Yet many people shy away from the word sanctification, as if it is harsh or restrictive. But sanctification is not punishment—it is promise. It is the loving work of God shaping you into who you were always meant to be.

Don’t be afraid to invite Him into that process.

Ask Him to search your heart.

Ask Him to remove what doesn’t look like Him.

Ask Him to refine you.

This is how we grow.

Even after many years of walking with Jesus, I find the work of sanctification continues. It is a lifelong journey of being shaped, refined, and drawn closer into His image.

Let’s pray,

“Lord, thank You that I am Yours—that I have been washed, sanctified, and justified through Jesus. Set me apart for Your purposes. Search my heart and remove anything that is not like You. Shape me and mold me into Your likeness. Let my life reflect You more each day. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
