“Chenaniah the head Levite was the director of the music because he was highly skilled.” I Chron. 15:22
“And he said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened,” John 1:51a
Chenaniah was the head of the worship leaders that served in coorperate worship during King David’s reign. He was Asaph’s boss while serving in the Tabernacle of David. Some argue that he is the “Chief musician” that is referenced in Psalms. This took place for forty years in the pre temple era. It is said that he was “highly skilled” as the director of music. The words “highly skilled” is derived from the Hebrew word “bene”, which means to be discerning.🤔 When worship leaders develop a discerning spirit they are able to step into their rightful anointing. They become openers of heaven. Most congregations are unable to truly experience this in corporate worship for lack of discernment, experience, vision, and insight. Once when a worship leader begins to taste of the heavenly power of God’s presence, he or she is allowed a lifelong pursuit of being in God’s presence and the worship of God becomes a lifelong passion.
I was speaking with a worship leader the other day who has a particular anointing for worship combined with a free spirit and a prophetic heart. The Lord said, “He is one who opens heaven.” Chenaniah of the modern era!
Holy Father, let heaven and earth collide in our worship! Allow us to acclimate to the atmosphere of heaven when we worship collectively as one! “On earth as it is in heaven”, becomes our prayer and our worship. Hallelujah Amen! Pastor Rusty
