Stigma

“From now on, don’t let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus” Gal. 6:17

This is powerful. The word “scars” in the passage above is translated from the Greek word “stigma” which means “brand mark.” It is saying that these scars show ownership, that he has literally been branded for Jesus.🤔 Sometimes your testimony is showing the scars you bear for his namesake. After His resurrection when Jesus first appeared unto His disciples they did not believe him until He showed them His scars. Then Thomas said, “I will not believe unless I can put my finger in His nail prints on His hand or the spear puncture on His side.” Jesus called him on it and challenged him to touch the nail prints in His hand and touch the the wound in His side. Thomas broke when he saw the scars. Sometimes your testimony isn’t the victory but rather when you passed through soul crushing disappointment and still trust in Him. When the scars go deep because of your faith. You carry “stigma”, the scars of His ownership. Maybe you can show me faith without scars, but I can show my faith by my scars.🤔 Pastor Rusty
