The Oil of Gladness

- Pastor Rusty - Dec. 5, 2023

“Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.” Psa. 45:7

This passage is considered a messianic text referencing the coming messiah, written by King David some 1000 years before the birth of the Christ. The Lord brought it to my attention this past week. It reveals a cause and effect because of the phrase “therefore”. This word implies that because you “love righteousness and hate wickedness”, God has anointed you with the oil of gladness. This is a cause and effect that God is going to cause to transpire in the bride as well. And He is going to anoint her with the Oil of Gladness also. By doing so He is going to heal many persisting wounds in His bride. The word “gladness” is translated from the Hebrew word “sawsone” which implies joy, mirth, and rejoicing. He is healing His bride before the Great Marriage Supper of the Lamb. He is anointing “her” with the same oil He received from His Father. Anger and bitterness are going to be removed from His bride. He is not coming after a “bridezilla”! 🦖 He is healing her deepest wounds. “Thank you Father for your everlasting, loyal love! Wash her and cleanse her from her self inflicted bruises. Adorn her in beautiful raiment with GOLD embroidery. Put a beautiful Gold chain upon her neck. Cause her to rejoice in the appearing of her groom and laugh as a maiden in love in His presence! Amen!” Pastor Rusty
