“I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” Psalms 138:2 KJV

This translation declares God’s word is above His name. Not only the KJV, but the ASV, ERV, and the Webster along with Young’s literal translation… Generally the older translations. Irregardless of your approach, God himself has placed high honor on what He has spoken. I liken this passage as an image of a writ (the Word) with His name signed at the bottom of it showing authorship and ownership of its’s content. He himself is endorsing His word with his signature at the bottom. “He has magnified His Word above His name.”

There is therefore no substitute for the Word of God. No books of modern revelation rise to the level of the Word of God. God is certainly not putting the writings of modern authors above His name. But His Word is everlasting… filled with eternal truth! Think about it.🤔

“The words of the LORD are pure words, like silver tried in a furnace of earth, Purified seven times.” Psa. 12:6. Amen. Pastor Rusty.
