Walking on Higher Ground

“Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good.” Rom. 12:21

Part of living victoriously in Christ is to not allow yourself to be sucked into the world’s system (or the world’s way of doing things). Especially by not allowing yourself to be overcome by the spirit of this age. There is anger and hate being spewed on every side. It is easy to be overwhelmed and return wounding for wounding. But the scripture captures God’s Spirit with this instruction… “Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” Rom. 12:17-20.

Receiving the Holy Spirit is the only way to truly break away from this world’s system and mindset. “And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!” Gal. 4:6

Without this action one cannot free himself from the spirit of this age. Every professing believer ought to say, “Holy Spirit come, you are welcome inside of me. Fill me to overflowing! In the name of Yeshua our King! Amen!
