Thanksgiving comes every year
When fall crispness is in the air
Time to think and ponder here
Of blessings given and loved ones near
Each tiny smile, each big strong hug
Warms my heart with those I love
Oh to be thankful for each little thing
Is something I strive for
even when it’s not Thanksgiving
There is so much I’d love to tell
Of granddaughter smiles and bouncy pony tails
Pink frilly dress, ribbons and bows
Painting finger nails hands and toes
Then there’s the grandsons I love them so tight
I love their giggles and laughter and grandpa wrestling fights
Rolling and laughing as they take grandpa down
Who is the strongest, who will win now
I think they have grown each time that I see
Looks like 3 inches! How can this be?!
I am a grandma with love shinning so bright
Such an honor to hold them they are such a delight!
They crawl up beside me
One or two on each side,
They know they belong there
Right by grandma’s side
Pigtails and super heroes sent from above
To fill this grandma’s heart with so much love ❤️
