“Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.” Proverbs 18:21.

Your tongue shapes your future. Speak life, not fear. My grandmother used to say “if you can’t say anything good then don’t say anything at all.” That is a good rule to live by and I think you could actually say “if you can’t speak with faith then don’t speak at all”! ❤️

God has given us a powerful gift—our words. What we speak is not neutral; it carries weight. Proverbs reminds us that life and death are released through the tongue. In other words, our words don’t just describe our future—they help shape it.

When fear comes , the natural response is to confess what we see, what we feel, or what we’re afraid might happen. But faith calls us to step out and believe. Confessing the Word means choosing to speak what God says, even when circumstances disagree. It’s aligning our mouth with heaven instead of our moment.

Every time you declare God’s promises, you are planting seeds of life. You are speaking into existence what isn’t visible, by faith. Words of faith strengthen your heart, silence the fear, and invite God’s truth into your situation. Over time, those words bear fruit—peace instead of anxiety, hope instead of despair, confidence instead of doubt.

It’s a decision we have to make. Do we trust in the Lord or are we going to accept what the carnal mind sees? If you are going to walk by faith it is to your advantage to confess what God says about it. Research the scriptures and find one that fits your personal situation and claim it. Confess it, speak it out. Here is an example,You can say “it looks like I am defeated, but the word says I am an overcomer!” We aren’t in denial but we are speaking by faith!
